2015 G23 Tower Knock?

I've got a banging/knocking sound that intermittently comes from the inside of my port side tower of my G23 when I hit some bumps at speeds above 25-30. Sounds like it is coming from about a foot up from the pivot point. I'm thinking that it might be the assist shock, but when I folded the tower yesterday I couldnt easily diagnose any issues. Any suggestions?

There shouldn't be anything else there to make a knocking noise. The spring assist should have a plastic tube over the springs to eliminate the noise. It should be a warranty item since it's a 2015 I would have the dealer look at it.
