    Fuel Filter Change Frequency

How frequently do you change the primary and FCC fuel filters if there are no symptoms? Manual says annually but whenever I change them the old ones look just like the new ones. Not at all dirty. Gas comes from a reliable supplier. 2011 PCM EX 343 engine.

Have always pushed 3 yrs or 150hrs on FCC. Write the hrs/date at last change on the oil filter along with the oil change hrs for quick reference.

I have had my boat about 3 years....I am done changing it every year. I am going to go every 2 or maybe 3 years. It just does not get that dirty. I will change the little one once a year. Honestly, we will never know. But I bet if you changed the little one every hundred hours you could change the fcc every 300 hours.

Scottb, I agree with you. I actually dried my small filter out and cut it open this spring and it was fine. There was some small sediment/ particles present but nothing of concern.

I also have cut both filters open and found no sediment or even discoloration. That's why I posted the question.

I was talking to a looong time promo owner / world renowned coach about this very question. He stated he changes out the small fuel filter as recommended and lets the FCC go a bit. This coming from a guy that puts HUNDREDS of hours on his boats.
I change my FCC out every 3 seasons with the impeller. The in-line fuel filter and oil get every season. I should also add that I don't put on much more than 50 hours a year.
