thermo help !

I have an 82 sn 2001 w/ford 351. What thermostat is best from skidim - 140 or 160 degree ? Im in texas , when is the 140 degree used ? Thanks ! Dan

The orginalshould be 160 degree, but I changes to 140 since the temp. of the engine tend to over the normal temp, (when idling and slow , the guage move up,170....180.....190,after change to 140 thermal ,the problem fixed,now always stay at 160) hope this can help.
