Hey guys getting ready to winterize my 2011 ZR450 CES engine for the first time. I was reading over the PCM diagram, but I'm not sure if I have the full closed cooling system or the partial closed cooling system. Is there an easy way to tell the difference?

I will have to dig up a pic of the engine or take one next time I'm at the boat shed which is about a 30min drive.2007 Malibu Wakesetter 23 LSV, 1995 Cobalt 200

Never heard of partial?? I believe there is either open (raw) or closed cooling. Yours would be closed, which means motor and associated components use anti-freeze similar to your car, nothing to do there for winterizing except maybe change the anti-freeze. Then you will have a raw side which draws lake water thru the impeller and the heat exchanger + any other associated components then out the exhaust. This side will need to be drained and then ideally backfilled or suck-up with antifreeze.

Thanks Quinner. The PCM manual shows 2 different systems. A closed cooling system and a partitial closed cooling system. I don't have the diagram in front of me so I may be wrong, but I think the difference is that the closed cooling system circulates antifreeze through the exhaust manifolds and the partial systems cools the manifolds with sea water.
This is the reason I posed this question. I don't want to drain the manifolds and have antifreeze start pouring out.

You need to drain the water as directed on page 72 of this manual.

Not 100% sure how those Cats/exhaust manifolds are cooled, would imagine raw water only but who knows?? If you by chance are due for an anti-freeze change now would be the time to do it, drain all the raw water first then do the closed side, should help you determine which is where.

I looked at the PCM manual again and the 2 different diagrams I was looking at was the one for the CES engines and one for the non-CES engines.
I reviewed the sea-water routing diagram and the antifreeze filling procedures. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but on the CES engines antifreeze cools the catalytic converter or upper portion of the manifold (the equivalent of the riser in non-CES engines) and sea-water cools the lower portion of the manifold that bolts directly to the heads.
I'm just trying to make sure I get all of the raw water drained without draining any antifreeze. My antifreeze was changed back in the spring and should be good for 5 years.

Jeff and Quinner,
Thanks for the responses about page 72, but it looks to me like either page 74 or page 76 is the diagram that applies to my ZR450 CES engine. I'm just not sure which is correct. I guess I need to find the serial number on my engine because it looks like page 74 applies to S/N prior to 515397 and page 76 applies to S/N 515397 and greater.

Looking at the diagrams again it appears:
Pg 72 refers to a non-CAT motor
Pg 74 refers to CAT motor (full closed cooling) - no manifold/cat drain
Pg 76 refers to CAT motor (partial full closed cooling) - has manifold/cat drains
If above is accurate (??) then you are correct, likely either Pg 74 or 76 applies to your motor. Serial number should tell for sure, would also look for the warning sticker to confirm one way or the other.
Learning something new today, lol!! On the upside it looks pretty simple (assuming easy access) whichever one you have.

Well I got the engine S/N from my bill of sale and it has 8 numbers (20129343) as opposed to the 6 digit S/Ns shown on page 74 and 76 of the PCM manual. Now I wonder if the S/N on the bill of sale is even correct. My boat is stored 30 minutes from my house so I cant just walk out to the gargage to check it. Where is the S/N located on the engine so I can confirm it?
I was going to just contact PCM and give them my S/N and ask them which page in the manual applies to my engine, but they don't list an email address on their website.
