Dexron III vs Dexron VI Trans Fluid

Is Dexron III still readily available? Went to Autozone and everything was Dexron VI. Says it exceeds Dexron III, but I'm hesitant to use it.

That or Dexmerc will also work, as long as it meets or exceeds the requirement you will be fine. Just be sure NOT to use synthetic.

DexMerc is the same thing with a different label. Dexron is a trademarked name owned by GM and GM no longer licenses Dexron III name. I was paranoid, so I called PCM years ago and they confirmed DexMerc is what I should use.
