attwood 1200 short or long intake?

I'm about to replace my fill pumps in my 2003 SAN and was curious if anyone has put in the Attwood 1200s or has any experiences with it in this boat. I didn't want to tear it all apart, order the pumps then get in there and realize crap theres not enough room or not enough intake to reach, This is the link to the short http://www.wakemakers.com/attwood-ts...200-short.html

Before you ask, I don't want to do ballast puppies, they are too expensive for me at this point in my life but I think my 12 year old pumps are on their last leg and I'd rather replace now than get stuck in mid season and hafta miss a few times on the water.

Two things. One, going with the T1200 is going to require 1" or 1.125" hose, does your current system use 1" hose? If not, can you also upgrade the fittings on the other end? If not, then go with a pump like the T800 that will allow you to retain the use of .75" hose. 2nd, the long short debate is a non-issue. The T1200 with the usable 1" threaded inlet, only comes in a short intake. You dont want the T1200 with 1-1/8" intake.

Referencing the Wakemakers web site, the only fittings for the T1200 are 1 1/8"

You probably have 3/4" hose so you'll need to neck the adapters down from 1 1/8" to 3/4" which will require another adapter. The T1200 pump also will need a new mounting bracket as the one for the T800 (probably the pump you currently have) is to small.

My recommendation is to replace like-with-like to keep it simple and cost effective. Take a look at your current pumps, I'd guess they are T800.

Thanks, that's lots of points I did not think of. Looks like I need to take out my tanks and see what I'm running now. The belly pump is right on top so I may just check it. I'm assuming they are factory. Not sure BC I bought the boat used

Take some pictures if you can. Assuming you do have the T800 pump, the motor cartridge is available.separately. Part number 4622-6
