Cutting Seadek

Is there any DIY techniques for cutting seadek and keeping the black border look of the storm grey over black teak. I know it will never come out like the factory but just checking if there is a way to keep that sort of look. I have to cut some step pads to fit the shape of where there going.

There is no way that I know of to accurately cut SeaDek that is multi-layer, and have it come out looking good. The SeaDek factory uses routers for this, and there is no other way that I know of to get that accuracy.

I think you could do something with a regular router if you rig up some guides. Otherwise, setup a jig in a milling machine and see if you can find the right cutter to match the shape of the SeaDek grooves.

i don't have a router but i ended up using a new stanley blade and slicing between the grey and black layer just with the blade set to only stick out a little, then cut on an angle the grey top layer with the blade set to only cut the depth of the grey. It came out quite good and didn't take long. I will try and get some pics up . Its not perfect but for the small ammount i had to do it worked out well.
