After clean up and replace the rusted parts and paint,I near the time to put the engine back to the SAN, I think if can test and run the engine to see its ok or not before put it back to the boat is a good idea, But I don't know how, appreciate if some body could tell me how to start it. The engine is GT-40 EFI w/computer control.

Its pretty easy, just use the water intake hose from the hull fitting. The way to do it is to put a small extension on the inside of the intake hose, then place the intake hose extension in a 5 gallon bucket. Then place a garden hose in the 5 gallon bucket, and let it fill, then fire it up. The bucket serves as a reserior to keep up with the demand of the engine. Hope it makes sense.

NC, he is asking how to run the engine while it isn't in the boat, no while the boat isn't in the water. needs to hook up a temporary ignition, water supply, possibly have to have a load on the engine?
