any one know any thing about the rule 500 in the bilge of the 210 Is their no switch in them. when you turn on the dash switch the one in the stern seems to run continually and the one in the bow seems to run for a bit and then stop.

The pumps should cycle and shutoff continuously. It's not my favorite system, but the way it works is like this, When the dash switch(on keypad) is on the pumps cycle every few minutes. They have a sensor that detects resistance (meaning water is actually pumping out) . Then they will stay on til the resistance is gone(no more water pumping out). You can either leave the switch on or manually shut it off when the boat is on by pushing and holding the bilge button Til the light goes off. It's annoying at first but you get used to it. It's a Nautique thing.
The other switch is your main switch under the throttle. It has all off, all on, bilge only. When you leave your boat in the water over night you want to leave that main switch at bilge only. The bilge will cycle all through the night. I have never once had a battery die because of this as the draw is so little.

our 200 has that system but the 210 we just picked up has a on off toggle switch on the dash and the pump has no automatic switch in it or is there one wired in to the pump.
So there is no way to leave the pump on automatic. Goofy system. Im thinking maybe some one replaced the pump with a cheap one.

I am thinking maybe the previous owner added that second pump in and hard wired it himself to the toggle. Completely taking it out of the loop with the rear pump. Weird, but a simple job. Maybe he left the boat in the water for extended periods of time and wasn't comfortable having a pump running all the time from the original factory setup why he was away for a bit. He could have added this second pump in which it has a float. This gives you 3 positions on the rocker switch. It stays in the middle and that pump is completely off, Push it up(or down depending on the way it's wired) and pump is manually on, Push the switch down instead ( or up) and now it seems like the bilge pump is off but it's actually in "auto" mode and has a float attached to the pump to automatically kick in when it senses water in the bilge. This way the pump doesn't cycle all the time like the factory.
Any pics of the toggle switch and its location. Also any pics of the pump and the housing it's mounted In? If the pump is mounted to a ring with a small box with slits in it, that's that auto bilge with a float I just mentioned. If it's not, I am out of ideas.
