    Checking my bearing buddies?

trying to service my trailer :

a trailer shop wanted 300 bucks to repack these.. If they are maintained they shouldn't need repacking correct??

I pressed on the piston ring 3 out of 4 seem to move back and forth a tiny bit.
Should I add a few pumps in each and call it a day?

from what I have read in here seems they do not need repacking unless failure .. Thank u in advance ..

I think you can just add a few pumps of grease and you will be fine. I can't imagine paying $300 for a trailer shop to do that. Thats why they have grease fittings...to make greasing the bearings easy.

How old is the trailer? How often does it get dunked? How many miles? I would have them re-packed after 3 years at least, with moderate use... Just my .02

          3. With Bearing Buddy® installed, how often do I need to repack my bearings?
We don't recommend inspecting your bearings more frequently than once every 5 years, provided you properly maintain the grease level in the hubs, and your bearings and seals are in new condition when you install genuine Bearing Buddy®. The Bearing Buddy® system maintains a constant pressure of 3 p.s.i. on the grease inside the hub. Since the hub is always full of grease (with proper maintenance) there is no need to repack your bearings. Some customers have reported that their Bearing Buddy® units were removed for the first time after 10 to 15 years of use, and the bearings still looked like new.

This is straight from bearing buddy's site. If they still have grease In them, they recommend filling back up and checking in another 2 years. Just don't let them get empty. I usually jack up each wheel and give it a wobble test to make sure the bearings haven't developed any play and roll on.

^^This Once they get empty water can get in and rust can start so keep them full. There are "waterproof" types of grease that will last longer.

Pump grease in until you see the black seal just start to push out against the spring. They are then full.

Exactly this ^ I have a 1988 trailer and boat and tow a lot in the summer, with a couple long trips during the season and haven't had to touch mine because I keep them greased. I give each bearing a few pumps of grease every few weeks and am good to go.
