Replace ZR6 engine!? or rebuild? looking to buy or rebuild! WANTED ZR6 motor

I purchased a 2005 Sv211 with the ZR6. the engine is a complete rust bucket. I had it taken out and was hoping to rebuild it. After already spending a lot more than anticipated (it was worse then everyone thought) Im trying to find a used engine for sale... preferably the ZR6. or if anyone knows how much it will cost for complete rebuild. Most machine shops don't want anything to do with this thing and if they do, they won't give me a price until its finished.

-anyone know where to find a used ZR6 engine?
    - anyone know the cost to rebuild?

Thank you for your responses in advance for any help!

Jasper sells a remanufactured ZR6. Mine has one in it. PO had it installed just before I bought it. I think the receipt was about 6,000 w/ install.

I wonder how well the ZR6 PCM will work on the ZR406. That's an outstanding DEAL! I want it myself!!!!! Lake Area Watersports is where my boat came from.

You could get an old 6.0 cast iron block from a truck and rebuild the bottom end your self, or get a reman or base engine from GM Performance. Also, that engine from Lake Area seems like a steal!
If you go the first route, you'll need to pull all the sensors and manifolds. If the exhaust manifolds are rusted out, you'll need to replace them (kinda pricey from PCM).

Let us know which route you take and good luck!

The only problem with buying a bottom end or a reman or base engine from GM is that the cams in our engines are different than in the vehicle engines. Plus we have drain plugs in the block that automotive blocks don't have. Also, some of the marine engines are reverse rotation compared to the automotive equivalent.
