I think it's time to rebuild the carburetor. It has been rebuilt a few times over the years. I just hate messing with it since it performs perfect when pulling a skier, etc. It has two little issues that are a bit annoying.
1 - After the boat warms up good, it'll start hard after you turn it off. This will only happen on warm days and the boat needs to sit for 5 - 10 minutes before it floods itself out. I have to pull the throttle all the way back while turning the engine over (opens up the choke) and it'll fire up. Of course, this makes it tough for other drivers.
2- The carb whistles every so often. Everything is tight but I suspect the gaskets are drying up, etc. I can shoot a little wd40 into the secondaries and it'll go away but it will come back later. It's more annoying than anything else.
Does anyone have any tips? Do you think a complete rebuild is necessary?
If a rebuild is necessary, do I have to buy the kit from CC or can I buy it at a local parts store?
