Speedometer Reading Stopped Working

I just got my new-to-me 2006 210 TE 1 week ago and today my speedometer stopped working. I replaced the volt meter and once I secured the dash and started back up the speedometer stopped working, same with the speedometer on the PP. Any ideas? The digital display on the speedometer is still working (just not the mph). Is there a single wire that runs form the paddle wheel to both the speedometer and PP that I could have knocked loose? I didn't notice any loose wires, but wasn't too sure what I was looking for.

If it is a Limited or team check all the plugs on the Gateway box to ensure they are fully inserted.

What boat do you have Shawn? Just curious if it’s an older boat with pitot tubes? If so, a lot of times it’s debris getting caught on them.

It’s a 2006 with the paddle wheel. I’ plan on pulling the paddle wheel out today to see if theirs anything obviously wrong. It does have some side to side movement but I’m not sure if that’s normal or due to wear.

Hmm I’ve never messed with paddle wheels. I’ve only had boat with pitot and/or GPS.

Since my PP gauge was going out I went ahead and upgraded the PP to the new GPS setup shortly after making my pervious post. I would still like to figure out whats causing the speedometer to sometimes read 0 when the boat is moving. Im guessing the paddle wheel is reading pulses made by a magnet such as a bicycle speedometer so I probably can't test it by just reading ohms. Any suggestions on how to test the paddle wheel and is it normal for them to have some side to side movement?

New member and new (used) boat owner as of this summer. I have a 2006 SANTE 210, and as of yesterday, the speedometer (both the digital and standard) stopped working. The digital screen display still works, but is not showing speed when the boat is moving. Is the paddle wheel the likely culprit? Any info/advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Never heard of a paddlewheel failing. Could be a loose wire, bad faria gateway (even the ones without pitot static tubes putting water into it) would be my first two guesses. The GPS stargazer upgrade of your perfect pass unit will bypass the gateway box and give you speed readings on a new gauge. The 2006 PP original gauges develop moisture problems and become hard to read. The stargazer upgrade is plug and play, but it does require pulling the helm off. Make sure after loosening the dash pod you reach underneath and disconnect the square plug to the keypad before pulling it off.
