Help with Steering cable repalcement in 220

got this thing almost done and I just cant get the nut off that attaches the cable to the sleeve. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions? The placement of that bracket makes it really tough to get at it. I was going to remove the entire bracket or take out the ballast tank next. Any suggestions???

I replaced mine last year. It is difficult but the nut does come off.

I think I used a short crescent wrench to get it off.

The hardest thing for me was the zip ties under the helm.
