So today was the day I fired up the boat. Hooked the hose up to the intake and she fired right up. As I waited for the water to come out of the exhaust, I didn't see any. I checked the temp gauge and it wasn't getting hot but I noticed water flowing out from under the bow. Here all the water was coming out of the heater box. Not any of the hoses, but the metal housing. How do I go about figuring this out? New heater? Or can this be repaired?

That sounds like your heater core is shot. The heater should be made by Heatercraft, you can contact them to see if a replacement part is available. You may have to replace the whole fan/heater core assembly, since some of the old style parts are no longer available. I had to on my 03 when the fan failed.

FYI - you can install shut off valves inline on the existing hoses that go to & from the heater so you can stop the leaking and use the boat. I put them in my old boat, pretty easy to do, $20 in parts from lowe's. Another short term solution is to buy a new piece of heater hose from an auto parts store and create a bypass by hooking it to feed and return connection points on the block.

Yeah, I added ability to shut off my system a week or two ago... All you gotta do is go get 2 male and 2 female 5/8 barbed hose connectors. Cut the lines and put them in nearby engine compartment where you can reach...5/8 inch lines just like hoses. So simply cut each line put in male on one side, female on the other of each hose where you cut it. So you connect them when system is being used. Then if you have to shut off you disconnect. And use simple hose splitter with each side of splitter (black shut off) in closed position for shut off. (So at top of the y just is not used when using the thing to shut off the system. Just handy to use since it has 2 male ends each with a shut off).
So the side that has the engine put the female hose connector. And put male side of each hose connector on the heater core side. Then you can use the last item pictured to blow out the system since you will have male side of connected on the heater side.

Found one at Napa for $38. It's a close fit. Super tight, so much that I had to drill out the positioning plates on the inside. Even with those gone, it's so tight it won't be moving anywhere. Also had to cut the openings for the tubes to exit the box. Not a big deal. Once I got it all buttoned up, it started pouring rain. I don't think it's going to let up for a day or two. I'll have to finish this project Monday.
Tim, Do you have a model number for the heater core you found at NAPA?
You bet. 660-3100 I found this from another post, and it ended up working for mine, as shown above, there was some shaving I had to do on the box, but it worked out.Shawn
