My 1997 gt 40 engine overheat light comes on after an hour of driving with no engine temp change on the gauge. It runs perfect the whole hour and the light starts dim and gets bright,and boat goes into limp mode. I have changed the entire water pump,impeller,oil and filters,new water filter, and water temp switch. After the boat sits for a bit it will do fine for a bit and the the light comes on again. I have read it may be the oil pressure switch. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

The light is for overheating and loss of oil pressure. When the light comes on if you do not see loss of oil pressure on your gauge. Disconnect oil pressure switch and if the light goes out that is your issue. Overtime I have replaced oil pressure switch, water temp switch and water temp gauge sensor on my 98' SS.
