Seat foam question

Anyone know the type and name of foam used in the early 2000 nautiques? It's a yellow foam just not sure the name of it. I need to order some to cut to fill the bow speaker holes in my bow back rest because I won't be installing speakers up in the bow after reupholstering the bow backrest.

Hey, foam brand won't really matter all that much with the exception of quality. Just make sure you get marine grade foam. All you will have to do is add a backing on the seat support, cut the foam to shape, glue it in, and use some form of batting. If you don't it will show through that there is a circle there.

Here are two pictures that show how an outline can come through on new vinyl.

Without batting (see the circle outline I had)



With batting, really cleans it up so there aren't any lows in the foam.


Obviously this is a bit bigger of a fill than a speaker hole, but same principal applies.

Great thanks. Yes Iv found marine grade foam on the net. Just figure did ask to see if anyone has knowledge of foam types used by nautique. Can you post a pic of what your calling "batting"? I think I have some from my Christine's marine upholstery supply order.

They have indoor AND outdoor marine applications. So if you don't have it, just make sure you get the right kind or it could get nasty over time and fill up with mold and mildew.
