    Engine Compatability

I have a 69 Barracuda with a cracked 318 in it (Model LM\318\BWR10 TYPE 366). I have another 318 (Model 318BXRX TYPE 327) which is a few years older than the engine in the boat. My question for all you gear heads out there is this. Can I use the older block with the newer intake and exhaust manifolds? The only thing that seems to be different is a cooling port that is missing at the front of the engine where the exhaust manifolds (water jackets?) attach. Would it be possible to drill this missing hole so it would match up with the exhaust manifold that I want to use? Okay, so maybe I had more than one question. Thanks

Are the rotations the same? When did CC start using RH rotation engines?

The older style is an M style 66 or Earlier and the one you have is an LM Check the exhaust manifolds The heads on the M style are straight and the LM zig zaged I don't knw if the manifolds will fit Speed Specialities has an LM block bored 60 over in their shop. I know because 5 years ago I needed a new block for my M block and the yard sent them an LM by mistake. They didn't realize it until they tried to mount the heads. They are in El Cajon California.
