Lately I've been noticing when I pull riders that my PP engages and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't engage or beep at me, I usually on the fly turn it off and back on and then it instantly engages to the speed setting. Any ideas or things to check? I know before I bought this boat the gauge was replaced. I never had issues with it until recently.. It doesn't happen often but enough to notice it for a post on PN.

yesterday, we noticed that we engaged the PP at 23.5 mph and then it never beeps within 1 mph of the set speed and continues to go past everytime. The only way we can set the speed and engage PP is if you turn PP off and then turn it back on while pulling the rider and then it engages with no issues. Any reason why PP doesn't engage the first time?

I saw on the site something similar, and it had to do with the pp motor servo

the only issue with that thread is that they say it actually beeps but never engages. Mine never actually beeps or takes control even though it's turned on. If I throttle down and try it again it will sometimes beep and engage. My fix for when this happens is when someone is driving, they just hit the on/off button on PP and it engages 100% everytime someone does that. I have had servo motor issues on my Malibu in Hawaii from salt, but this is different. It's like it will always engage if you just hit the on/off button if it never beeps and shoots past the speed. Then, sometimes it auto engages like it should and beeps to take control like nothing was ever wrong. very inconsistent. I just know if the driver realizes it never engages the work-around is always to turn off/turn back on and it always beeps and enages after that. I will call PP later today and see if I can figure it out.
