210 SAN - Side drink cooler removal

    Hi Guys,

Doing a bit of a clean up of the boat this weekend and I wouldnt mind removing the side drink cooler (under the side seat- 4 cup holders) to clean all the carpet ect. smells a little damp in there.

Not sure exactly how to remove it - seems to have 2 screws at the bottom.... is this all that has to be removed. seems to be fixed pretty securely.

yes those two screws are all there is. the seat base is molded plastic, not much you can do with it. the cooler inside it is relatively small. when you put it back aligning (sp?) the screws are a pain. you need to get the back to hopefully butt against the back seat base and the front to catch and support the front gull wing observers seat. i thought of building a box to fit the same outside dimentions but alot bigger on the inside to better use the space, but i have other side projects now.

If you get to that project let me know. I have contemplated making some sort of frame work under the lift up seat because its not very usable when items just roll out on to the floor. I have a hard time understanding the engineering reason behind such a structure or lack there of. Some things are so over engineered and others you have to really ponder....

Hey guys i got to removing that cooler the other week.
cleaned it all out. I know what you mean about some things being questionable.

For instance the drink holders in this cooler have drain holes. but they drain into the base of this seat and cant get out.

There is a bit of wasted space in this structure so you could mod it to be more usefully.

A little tip that may help someone, or at least save some time. When you remove this cooler. Un screw the two screws at the base, prob 3inch long. before you remove the cooler, place some stiff wire or something back into the holes, then remove the cooler over the wire.(leaving the wire in place to show the screw hole locations. Then when it comes to reinstall place the cooler back over the wire you have placed. Might save a little time searching the carpet for the screw holes and trying to align the screws when you go to put the cooler back .

        Hope this makes sense.
