    NSS and NCRS issues

I'm sorry if there is already a thread on this, I couldn't find any... The starboard side NSS is stuck deployed part way out, after removing trim plate it doesn't appear that the "gate" is stuck or lodged, it seems to be free. Also the NCRS isn't responding. Does anyone have any suggestions? Could both rams be bad? Electric issue? Computer update needed? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Might need to have the LINC system flashed. If one system or the other was acting up it might be mechanical, but if two separate systems are acting up it points to a controller (LINC) malfunction.

There is another G23 here on Lake Norman with a similar issue. Weird that another boat in the same area is experiencing this same issue at the same time.

The one I am aware of is a '16 G23. One of the NSS plates will not deploy unless you switch surf sides back and forth a few times. Then everything starts working OK. Not sure if it is a bent plate, bad actuator, etc.

Either way, take it to the dealer and let them figure it out. That's what warranty is for.

So.....the dealer was able to verify all the Rams are fine. The LINC has been updated and NSS is back in. However, you can't hear them zero out when you turn the boat on. The dealer doesn't think they are responding to LINC and they don't know what the problem is....

I was hoping I could post the fix so if anyone else had the same issue it might be helpful...

I plan to pick the boat up tomorrow and lake test it in the evening. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will just work!!

Otherwise anyone have any suggestions? PME issue? LINC needs replaced? I did have stereo completely redone 4 days before issue, could this impact it somehow?

          Thanks guys!

Did you ever get to the root cause of this NCRS not responding? Curious what the issue was.

Turns out there was a wire slightly packed out of a connection on the PDM. What an ordeal for such a small issue

I also had a NCRS issue this season, mine would not move to the set position consistently and then stopped working all together. My dealer replaced the actuator, but also said there was water in the "waterproof" deutsch connector...so next time I will start by checking all connections.

I am having similar problem with a wave plate staying deployed from last weekend. Yeaman0823 can you please let me know what the "PDM" is? I need to check that out.

Easy way to check your NCRS: swap the NCRS male plug with the starboard side NSS female plug. Power the boat up by putting in your ignition code (but don't start the boat) and go back to the platform to listen if the NCRS actuator pulls into its "zero" position. If you don't hear anything, its probably a bad actuator. To be sure, plug in the starboard NSS actuator male plug to the NCRS female plug that runs up to the PDM (Power Distribution Module) under the dash. Repeat the power up procedure. If the starboard NSS actuators makes the "zeroing" noise upon power up, the NCRS actuator is bad. These plugs are located just behind your 4" blower motor, to the starboard side of the rudder. I used this method and diagnosed the bad NCRS actuator this week. I then pulled the actuator and found water had gotten into the actuator. Very common problem on Malibu boats with their wedge actuators. The NCRS replacement actuator is the Lenco 15060-001 102XD Series. Found on Amazon for $211, maybe cheaper elsewhere but I needed it asap. Will install this Saturday and report back.

Good evening sir. My name is Oliver, I got a G23 2013 with the ZR409. I have 582 hours on it, I use it 4 times with each time the same weight as ballast crew and gaz.
i run as full ballast plus two 260 lbs in port and starboard mid compartment, 375 lbs in the bow and a 205 lbs under the passenger seat beside the driver. Around 3/4 of a gas tank and 2 adult and one child. I’ve been doing this 3 times with no issue at all but the fourth time the boat throttle lever was at max and the speed stay at 14 mph. The NCRS was at auto « on » intensity high and at 5 like the 3 other times. To get the boat on plane I have to drain the rear ballast about 1/4 both side and still take a long time to get on plane. I suspect the NCRS actuator is bad but not sure about it. Here what I did check, i noticed that the plate on trailer is retracted as like flat ( parallel to the ground) mean at 5 if I’m not wrong. So I disconnect the NSS starboard connector I take his male connector and I connected in the female NCRS connector and then I run my key code to cycle the zero noising of the NSS. So the NSS port make his zero noising, the starboard one did not cause was disconnected but also the NCRS did not make any sound or mouvement and stay flat again. Is that mean that my actuator is no more good and need to be change? Thank you for your time. Oliver
