I5 is my storage # for dry dock....I have attached straps to both places, but honestly i use trailer about 2x a year because boat stays in dry dock marine storage so I in general dont even use the straps.

Totally good question to ask, and no it had no effect on the wake, spray, anything. It is basically snug to platform and not in the water while at speed. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Just and FYI, you can buy the factory ladder from iboat for $122. Mine just showed up this week and I installed it today. 100% identical to the factory unit and considerably less. Just need to buy your own 1.5in x 1/4in stainless lag bolts

Compare it to the one from Nautique parts

Do you remember (or does anyone know) what size drill bit to use for the stainless lag screws that come with the ladder ordered from Nautique Parts? I have one and I am ready to install it. Was it a normal drill bit or something special and how deep do you drill (assume length of shaft of lag screw? Thanks!

I followed Gunteville230's lead and did the exact same install on my Super Air 230, worked out great. I really appreciated his photos and step by step. You can either use 1/4 inch x 1-1/4 inch lags, or #14 x 1-/14 inch pan heads, You don't need 1-1/2, as you lose bite past 1-1/4 anyway. Use a 7/32 drill bit, any smaller you will spin the heads off your screws/lags, trust me a did a couple before I went up to 7/32. Stainless is pretty soft. 7/32 is also recommended for 1/4 inch lags into hard materials. My platform has #14's x 1-1/4, black oxide screws. Hope this helps.

My apologies, "Guntersville230", at least I could get his user name right, after he helped me out.

                    Cheers,

Anyone else have any issues with the included bolts shearing during installation?

I appropriately drilled pilot holes (7/32" bit) and managed to shear 2 bolts before taking a break. I'm considering using an impact driver for the remaining bolts (bought shorter stainless hex heads) with a penetrating lubricant but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and solved it. Thanks!

GS22. No issues with 7/32 pilot and ¼ in x 1 ¼ lags. Used a bit of oil and they went right in.

I had issues with the included lag screws. I bent 3 of them trying to get them in. My kit from nautiqueparts came with 1/4"x2". I picked up some stainless lag screws from lowes and they went in with no problems.
