You can use hotmaps premium cards for LINC 1 (as well as 2 for that matter) I just checked the Navionics website and it is supported. The card is behind the bezel for the screen. Be careful taking it apart! If I remember correctly , there are four bolts you access from the back side that hold the chrome trim ring in place....
I've got a 2010 230 and am curious about these maps. I don't seem to have maps loaded on the Link1 now. I should buy the Hot Maps Platinum compact flash card for my region and find the card reader on the back of the Link 1? That's all it takes? Are any another types of map supported that I can compare?
The card reader is a little hard to get at. You have to remove the chrome trim ring. If memory serves me correct there are four nuts that have to be removed then the trim ring can be pushed off from back. The card reader sits right in the middle on the bottom.... I don't think the Platinum will work as its more than 2GB. I used Hotmaps Premium.
