LINC 2.0 Reflash (won't boot)

I've seen many threads on guys talking about getting their LINC reflashed. I'd like to know who has successfully done this and if anyone has just sent the unit to the dealer instead of dragging the entire boat. Mine won't boot at all and I have a feeling it's software related, but I'm scared of the dreaded $4,300 replacement. I'd like to send it to a dealer to be reflashed and if that doesn't work see if Murphy would take it directly from me for repair.

If it won't boot at all, I doubt the dealer will be able to reflash it. To reflash, you have to boot it, and then go into the system settings. If you can't get there, you may be out of luck.

What year is your boat? Isn't it still under warranty?

It's out of warranty, 2012 :-( I saw Murphy has a connection to hook it up to a laptop, wasn't sure if dealers had those or if that device could reflash it without booting. I want to make sure I find a dealer who has done it before!

Ah, you're right. LINC is only covered for 3 years on a '12.

How far are you from N3 Boatworks? I would trust them, and they should be fairly close to you.

N3 is top notch. I have driven 4hrs to have them work on my boat.

Thanks for the info, I'm about 5 hours from them. I'd really like to ship the unit to someone since my schedule is crazy and taking my boat anywhere isn't very easy. I was hoping to hear from some guys on here who have had it done before (based on some threads I read), but next week I'm going to start making some calls.

Call nautique, a month or so ago I had to send them my linc 1.0. They do most of the repairs in house from my speaking to them several times about the issue I was having. Mine ended up going back to Murphy but nautique handled the repair/contact.

I wouldn't panic just yet, I had my linc From a 2012 do the same thing last year. I talked to Mark at n3, he has me remove it and send it to him. They reflashed it and it has been fine since. Give them a call.
