    2004 216 Ski Sport 330 Excalibur 5.7L

While de-winterizing the boat, I got in a hurry and apparently mashed the threads on the brass drain plug on my circulating water pump. The plug is out, the female threads in the pump feel pretty rugged too. Question is, do I try to re-tap the 1/8 27 npt female threads in the pump since they seem pretty rugged or do I bite the bullet and drill+re-tap the next size up 1/4"? I'd really like to avoid pulling the pump since I'm not sure what all is involved with that move, plus the pump is working just fine with less than 350 hrs.

I ended up using epoxy to seal this up and no longer pull this plug for winterization. I just make best efforts to clear any residual water when I winterize. I’ve stored in the same unseated pole barn since with no issues
