    2011 SAN 210 ballast weight

I can't seem to find what the ballast tanks on my 2011 Sante 210 (two rear and one centre) hold in terms of weight. I think they say the total is 900lbs. Does anyone know what the break-down is? I am reviewing a lot of the surf setups from various posts, but not even sure where I am starting with the factory tanks.

    Thanks.

Hello Cdnsurfer, my 2011 210 Sante owners manual states 906 lbs however there does not seem to be a breakdown indicating how much weight each ballast tank holds.

We had a good surf wave last night with full fuel (40 gallons), two peeps in the boat(275 lbs), full ballast plus a 900lb Sumo Sac on the port side, and a diy suck gate. If I have more people I leave the sac empty.

I'm interested in installing another 900 on the starboard side plus a 650 in the bow. Anyone have a similar setup?

Thanks Free48. I am pretty new to this boating thing, just got the 210 last summer. We put about 80hrs on it and the kids managed to get some great surfing in. But reading all the posts, realizing that we were way UNDER-weighted. Mostly just running the surf-side back ballast and some centre with a few people in the boat. But at the time, I thought the wave was good.

I am building a diy suck gate this weekend, plan to load both back tanks, add 350 bags to each side in back, fill centre, and I ordered a 750 bag to add some weight to the front. Back to the lake Aug 1st weekend, looking forward to some major improvements.

Did you have any issues attaching your suck gate to the boat? I just have to wait til I get back down there to see exactly what the back of the hull looks like and where best place to attach is.

I'm building a suck gate also, hope it helps. And ordered ski locker bag and 400 lbs pop products.
I have 750's I ln rear pluss full stock tanks. It's not great. Yet.

Do you think platform is hurting us? Meaning raise it up?

From what I have been reading from other surf setups, I think my biggest issue was weight in the front (lack of it). I have only been running the stock ballasts in back (and occasionally a 350lb bag on surf side) and someone sitting on the back corner, and I was getting a pretty good wake(at least what I thought was pretty good, for kids was great, but I could not let go of rope for too long, so that's my new excuse!). I think adding some weight to front will make a big diff for me.

Sold my old mastercraft to get the 210 nautique. I could surf all day long in that boat with no rope. And I'm 200 lbs.

I'm hoping this boat will be even better when I get it set up correctly.

I have a 2010 SAN with the 343 engine. ACME 1433 prop. Each rear stock tank holds 278.5 lbs and the centre holds 348 for a total of 906 lbs. I have plumbed in 750s in the rear lockers, a 370 in the centre locker overflowing to a 725 lb integrated bow sac. I figure the 370 only fills to about 300 and the IBS to about 600. 150lb fat brick up front in place of the filler cushion. So total ballast is 3400 lbs. 2-3 people in the boat. The boat is not listed at all. I have a DIY suck gate that works amazing. We have a long, powerful wave. Starboard slightly better than port. We literally just move the gate for goofy riders. I cannot believe how much better the wave is with the suck gate. It never falls off in fact I have a hard time getting it off often. Have it tied to a buoy should it fall off.

                2011 SAN here.
We run full tanks pluss 750"s rear each side plumed in
Front ski locker bag plumbed in 300 lbs lead sacks under front bow seat.

                Suckgate on side.

                Wave is sick!!!!!!!

Only 8 feet of water today in lagoon and could surf with no rope.

Lost 2 suckgate in a week... just make sure your leash is strong.....

On my 08 210 I run full factory plus 400 on top of each hard tanks in rear. Belly full. 150 Lead Wake in the bow under center cushion. Ghetto gate placed about 1 foot forward of the transom. Anywhere from 2 to 6 people on board full tank of fuel. 10.6 mph great results long wave with tons of push. If the surfer really knows how to pump/ carve they can surf back to 15 feet off swim deck. I quit using a bow bag in lieu of the Lead Wake bags. These are great and only cost $56 each for a 50# bag. I have 6 and only use 3 in the bow.

This is my daughter riding behind our 2011 SAN 210 with all factory ballast tanks full plus 2 750 lb sacs in rear locker that are plumbed in aND a 650 lb front bag also plumbed in under the seats. This had 4 adults and 4 small kids in the boat and running around 10.9 to 11 mph. And had my DIY gate attached which has made the biggest difference.
