    The day ended rotten.

Just purchased a CIPA Extreme 7" X 20" mirror http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=M2022 and as I was removing it from the windshield, I dropped it and cracked the middle section.

I know I'm going to have a ton of comments about bad luck, but that is beside the point.

Does anyone know if that middle section can be replaced and if so, how would you go about doing it?

    Thanks again.

I had one break and was able to buy just the glass (mirror). If memory serves me just pull back the rubber trim and the mirror will come right out.
If DIM does not have them I bought mine locally at http://www.munsonski.com

I had the same thought quinner, but I think the problem might be that shoedad bought the extreme model mirror which I think has convex mirrors. BKH

        ShoeDad, contact this place:

        http://rpminnovations.com/marine-b.htm

They have replacement glass for some of the other CIPA mirrors and may have it for the Extreme. If not, contact CIPA:

        http://www.cipausa.com/

and they should be able to tell you where to find it.

Thanks everyone for your input, I appreciate it but not as much as my wife who thinks that I'm going to spend another $110 for a mirror. Now I've saved so much money, I can spend it on something else....

After emailing CIPA this is the response that I got.

Sorry but that one does not have replacement glass, it comes prepackaged from China.
            Thank you

Now that is customer service...I'm trying a local glass shop but since it is a curved mirror it will be sticking out on the ends...still better than spending another $110

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

How do you like the mirror? how much does it increase your field of vision?
