    409 Engine temps?

Just got my new--to-me '14 200 OB back from the shop after some warranty work on the cooling system. Still seems to run warm as compared to my 196. I'm seeing 168=173 at idle and 178-184 running at 3500 rpm. Is that normal? PCM lists 160 in their manual but wasn't sure if they simply ran warmer because of the semi closed loop.

My 2010 409 runs 168-178. Your temps would bother me if I were seeing them.

Mine runs around 170. Did they replace the impeller? I just replaced mine after two summers of use and I was surprised at the amount of wear on it.

They replaced the impeller, the coolant and the internal water pump. I wonder if it still has a bit of air trapped in with the coolant. I have added a bit of Dexcool as directed by the shop but the temps remain fairly steady.

I'm in that 168 to 172 range...was wondering if that was normal.

UPDATE....I have had it out for 7 ski sessions now. Temps now peak at 178 while running the course and about 173 at idle. It has taken about a quart of DexCool so I presume it must have been some air in the system after the new coolant went in.

don't closed cooled boats run warmer anyway?
