    1993 SN horns??

Ok, quick question. the "horns" on my boat make very little noise, and I want to either repair them or replace them. I can see them through the vent in front of the windshield, but don't know how the heck to actually gain access to them, to remove them. Anyone done this before? Or can provide help in removal?

    Thanks

Do some searching but I believe you may need to cut the box under the dash to get to them.

Before you replace see if it's a power issue. I had the same problem with my 99 Sport where the horns stopped working or worked some of the time. There was a link online that I found where someone else had the same issue. These older Nautiques have marginal power to the dash and the horn is powered directly from it.

The link recommended wiring in a relay with a larger power wire from the battery to the relay. Then have the horn button just act as a signal to the relay. I did that and the horns work great again. Changing them out looked nearly impossible.

Try that first before you go cutting up your boat.

Yeah, I checked the power on the "orange" wire that goes to the horns. It's getting plenty of power...the horns just make a horrible "stuttery" noise..that you can just barely hear. I am pretty sure it's the horns.
