    Help with engine issue diagnosis

I have a 1996 Sport Nautique. When we first go out and put it in the water, is starts up no problem. Works great actually. We will go run it for a bit to get over to the smooth part of the lake and then once we turn it off and hang out for a bit, we seem to have some issues getting it started back up. It turns and turns, really tries to start, and as long as we keep the key turned there it starts up after about 10 seconds or so. It's not a battery issue. My dad seems to think that the cylinders are flooded with gas ... but it's fuel injected, how does that happen?

Anyone have anything similar happen? Any suggestions on what the issue might be or how to fix it?

    Thanks!

I'd start with inspecting your cap and rotor - see if you've got corrosion on your points.

Fuel injected; is it the GT40? I would look at the timing. If timing is out too much, it can create hot start issues. It will be fine cold.
