All ballast gauges are non-responsive, stuck on E. All tanks fill and empty with no issues. Checked the senders - seem fine (not stuck) and I don't see fuse issues (e.g. popped out) on helm panel. Just bought the boat this summer and inherited the issue; I assumed that it was a fuse issue but not sure that appears to be the case. Any suggestions on where to start diagnosis would be appreciated. As an aside, local dealer did a buyer check on the boat and mentioned the issue but did no offer a solution.

Hi, a quick way to test your gauges are to bridge the ground connection on the back of your gauge with the signal connection. If the gauge moves to full then you know the gauge is good. The ignition must also be on to put power to the gauge.
The senders work by having a ground connected one side and the other side goes to the gauge, check this is wired correctly if your gauge is ok.
I am having trouble currently with a new gauge that's always showing full.
Hope this may help you

Yes, simply touch a screwdriver or metallic object across the ground and signal connections.

Swatguy - yup, checked all connections. Current ballast is OEM. That's to say, that all of the sending units are plugged in. What I haven't done is pulled the gauges to see if there is anything amiss on the back-side wiring. More to come on this......

There is a harness on the back of that panel that does run all the gauges. Maybe it's loose
It's a pain to get to tho. Gotta remove the shifter and the side panel. Side panel is just held in place with push tabs. So it will just pull off once you get it started. Then there are 5 screws I believe in that grey panel.Last edited by swatguy; 08-11-2016, 02:47 PM.
