    Wet carpet behind drivers seat

Looking for advice. 2000 AN. New boat for us this year, first nautique. Noticed wet carpet behind drives seat, seems to end in front of rear seat. Not enough water to require bilge, but very wet carpet. Not the heater (cold water) already replaced heater core.

Seems to to happen at all speeds, even very slow speeds. Seems to be in area just fwd of where bilge would discharge (possibly coincidence)

    thanks for any suggestions

I believe in the 2000 air nautique there's a thru hull fitting in the hull just behind the drivers seat. I'm wondering if the clamp came loose and the hose fell off that fitting. That would likely cause water to splash in thru that fitting.

Thank you Woody, will start the search for the fitting. That sounds logical as the water qty is small but consistent.

          thanks

p.s. Do you know if Hull plans are published or
available on older models? May be proprietary on new models.

Another thing occurred to me..... If there's a cup holder in the hull next to your drivers seat... check and see if it has a drain line and if so it may be the source.

                  Thank you Tmosley,

i am am on the road until the end of the month. Then I will begin the search. I know the cup holder to be dry but I will check.

Do you know of any plans available on the Internet show the hull/plumbing/cable lay out?

                  thanks

                    Shower control leaking perhaps?

Not sure what is the layout on your boat, but if similar to mine, but the ballast vent controls are right behind the drivers' seat, so perhaps you're getting water from there? Could be that your overflow is clogged and water is backing up through the vents?

I have a 2000 SAN... shower controls are right there, and the vent controls for the ballast system. I'd bet it's a shower control connection. Those lines are easy to find (grey and blue) at the engine (grey/hot) and v-drive (blue/cold) area... put a pair of vice grips on those lines next time out and see if that doesn't stop it before you tear apart the seat area.

Ballast vents are a possibility, but they come out of the TOP of the hard tanks, so your ballast would have to be completely full to overflowing before you'd have a problem there.
