Perfect pass gauge goes black

I have a PP stargazer gauge in my 99 ski that goes black once every third or fourth time I start the boat.

Doesn't matter if it's the first time starting for the day or after a short stop. The instead of forming the numbers and letters the lcd goes straight full and blacks out the screen.

Operation of the system still happens (it still controls the speed) while the screen goes black.

Any advice is appreciated!

That's odd... Sometimes mine cycles through and through and through, then settles down. My advice would be to give PPass a shout (http://perfectpass.com/?q=contactus), their service is awesome (they're in Nova Scotia). Seems like the screen itself might have some connection issues.
