    Excalibur 330 that smokes white

    Hello.
    I'm a portuguese Nautiques owner.
I bought my first nautique one month ago. It's a '03 210 air nautique team edition with a PCM excalibur 330.
The boat have now 575 hours, allways without problems.
Yesterday, after 45 min cruising, i stopped the motor for 30-40 min.
When i try to restart, the engine start working irregulary, and shut down frequently, and when working, does not increase rpm when accelarating.
After 3 or 4 min trying it starts good and i passed 1 hour wakeboarding without any problem.
I stopped for 30 min and the same problem : difficult to start, engine shutting down frequently, and a litle white smoke from the exhaust.
I opned the engine cover and the engine were making a noise like a belt slipping. I verified the two belts and there was no problem.
The noise seems to come from the air filter or the water pump.
After 3 ou 4 accelarations, it starts to work good.
I run for one hour more, allways without problems.
Today i went to start the engine, and not even signal of problems.
    I'm concerned!!!!!!!
    What happned???
I will appreciate very much your help to tranquilize me, because it is my first nautique and after the first 5 hours i'm strting to have problems.
    Thank you very much

is it running hot the raw water pump could be seizing a bearing and making the belt slip

how old is the impeller? most of my friends change yearly in the spring, always look at temp gauge, oil pressuregauge when having a problem, if either are abnormal get towed in don't run engine even at idle

Thank you G-man. The impeller have 4 months and about 70 hours of use. The engine allwyas run with normal temp and pressure.

Check the oil. Is it Milky. You might have sucked water back into the cylinders and this would cause white smokeas well as water in the oil.. Also SN is known for steam coming out of the exhaust regularly. Ceck the flapper on the exhaust. Is it still there. Other than that you may have had a intermittent short in the ECM. If it does it again, shut it down and check the water pump is not seizing. This might cause overheating and the engine would go into safe mode.

My guess is something impeller or water pump related, but since you said the temps were normal I'm not so sure. Check the oil, make sure it's the right color and doesn't smell funny.
