G23 high pitch noise in drive line

Has anyone experienced a high pitch drive train noise after its warmed up? It almost sounds like a squeaky fan belt, but it comes and goes with engaging and disengaging the transmission. It's not always there, when you first take the boat from the dock it's nice and quiet, then eventually starts in.

Update: The technicians from the dealer drove the boat today and were able to reproduce the sound I described. They found that the V-Drive oil is low and they noticed some oil residue underneath the unit. It's not clear if the unit is leaking, or if it was low from the beginning or if what they saw was residue from the 25hr oil service. That still doesn't explain the noise unless low fluid causes it. They are taking the boat in to pressure test the V-Drive and give it a good look. If I do end up needing a new drive they don't have one sitting on the shelf, so I don't think I want to know how long that would take to get one in and installed. Long weekend coming..end of summer approaching..NEED BOAT! I'll update this post as I know more for those of you following it.

Update: Techs got on the phone with PCM this morning and learned that there have been some issues with drives that leak oil out of the breather vent. They were instructed to pressure test the drive to 7lbs and if it passes the pressure test, refill, test drive and inspect the vent under loaded conditions. The drive passed the pressure test and while they were doing the lake test they were able to visually see oil coming out of the vent, the noise I complained about is gone (probably because there is actually oil lubing everything now!). PCM is sending an updated vent kit for them to install. I fear that at 65 hours on the boat there could have been some damage done to bearings, seals or gears in the drive from running it low on oil for so long. If it were up to me, I'd rather have them replace the entire drive, but all of the work performed will be documented.in case a problem arises down the road. So for now it looks as if the problem is solved. Hats off to the techs at Marine Max in Rogers, MN for getting at everything so quickly.
