    Fat Sac Quick connect fittings

Had a sac "unload" into the bilge last month and found the fitting pulled out of the threads on the sac. Blew it off and screwed it back in. Well, happened again this weekend only to the other side. Unreal! Been using these sacs for 4 years with no issues whatsoever. Bags are vented and nothing abnormal about setup. Amazing how quick surf wake disappears and how long it takes the bilge to empty 750 lbs of water out. Did some research and found this on barefoot international's website (Fly High).

Don't remember instructions to use pvc cement on the threads of the fittings, but you can bet I will.

Just a friendly FYI, I have never heard of anyone else having this problem. Still love the product.

Are the fittings getting pinched between the full sacs and a wall? We've seen this be a cause for a pulled out fitting. Rarely on their own.

I had both mine pull out last week. I used permanent glue and redid them all yesterday.

Mine pulled out after 3 weeks of use

There are actually cutouts in the bottom of hull for factory pumps I think, so no pinching. just weird no problems for four years, then two blowouts. The snip didn't show up from website but it said very important to use general pvc cement on the threads..

You. An use regular strength pvc cement. This will allow you to remove the fitting down the road if need be. I used some
leleft over 3m 4200 on mine. Held strong for 8 plus years on my old boat.

Glue it and be done. I fought leaks for months and gave up. Used PVC cement so there will be no changing mine but no more bleed off.

Just happened to me last week also, noticed the bilge blasting water out, popped the rear Hatch and found my vent fitting had popped open. The way I had the hose routed was the problem for me, got pinched between sac and side causing it to get super tight and basically ripped it out, luckily no permanent damage. Screwed it back in and it was fine. I think I will be sealing mine in too.
