ok, for the first time ever in 10 years of boating I had to get towed in with the wife and kid.
I I backed the boat in the water, it started no issues like normal. Wife putted around while I went to put the trailer up. She picked me up and we began to idle out of the no wake zone. Then it happened.
Started led making a strong sucking sound so I stopped. Popped the hatch then it chugged and died. After looking at it tried to start it again and it did but kinda back fired still sounded bad. Tried to give it a little throttle and it died.
Sounded like no fuel. So I pulled the drain plug on the fcc and got about 5 drops. The fuel gauge showed half a tank and thinking back we had been out surfing for a day and then made several beach runs. I owned up said babe I think fuel gauge is bad and we are out of gas.
So got towed in put boat on trailer grabbed the pontoon to salvage the day since it was such a late start anyhow.
That night after everyone was tucked in I hitched up went to get fuel. While getting fuel it clicked at ten gallons and burped out the fill line.
So about right based on fuel gauge.
Scrathing my my head I headed to the ramp put the boat in and tried to start it. The boat chugged hissed and died. So I hit start again. Then it fired up and ran. This is about 1130 at night and I was feeling brave so I Took it off the trailer idled out drove it for 15 min. No issues. Put on the trailer then went home.
Waking up up the next morning telling the wife I don't know what happened but we taking it out again today to try and get it to do it again. Had friends out so worst case bum a ride.
Well ill she ran no issues.
Im leery of a magical it works. A buddy said be thankful. But I maintain my stuff pretty meticulously because I know I play hard and no one likes a bad day.
Anybody got an idea of what might be the issue.
Doing some one thinking and searching bad low pressure pump? Or atleast failing one? Only reason I could think that 1/2 tank of fuel would make a difference.
Help and ideas welcome.
