I got my IACV from Amazon for $50, looks like they are $45 now. Here is a link.

The other common cause of the problem are the ECM or Starter replays, you could try replacing these too as they are only about $15.

I think when you are having the issue you can try disconnect the IACV and see if the looping goes away.

I have a mild version of this (my RPMs only fluctuate about 250 RPM) it can get bad at times and my boat has cut out a couple times. I replace the IACV and the ECM replay and nothing changed.

Just because it looks clean doesn't mean it's not broken. Test it by firing up the motor from a dead cold start and then immediately while motor is running cold unplug the IAC. Then turn off motor. Remove IAC and measure the length of the spindle sticking out from the valve and write that down. Put it back in fire up motor and this time wait for it to warm up and start lopping then again disconnect IAC then turnoff motor. Remove IAC valve and measure spindle length again. If it hasn't moved at all then it's failed and is stuck as it should move when engine gets hot.

Woah didn't see the spark arrestor until just now. Yeah that certainly isn't helping anything... You might be right just clean that thing up and hopefully problem solved. If not then it's likely your IAC valve looks just like that spark arrestor on the inside.

Yeah it did defiantly help cleaning it. But now new prob is my low flow fuel pump isn't turning on and wondering if there is a relay inside of it. I hear the click when I hit start but no pump moving.
