Galaxy Graphic Removal

I'm strongly considering removing the Galaxy graphics from my 2016 G23. My question is whether a boat ordered without galaxy graphics is the same as one ordered with (except for the added graphics).

Looking at the online designer it looks to be the case. If you'd like to know the why I'm a fan of a timeless clean look (my last boat had no graphics at all) and I'd like to remove them before any shadowing occurs.

You can remove them with no issues. I replaced part of mine on my 2015, so I have done the removal in the past.

Do it! It will look much better without the decal! Your G only needs the black chevron and "Super Air Nautique". It will look super clean and cool. And not so busy

Kmayotte did you remove the galaxy graphics? Any issues? I have a 16' as well and considering the same thing. I like a clean look better!!! I'm noticing that many of the piks of 17's are clean!!!

I have no doubt that it will look much better without the graphics! The G boats, '16 and up look great with the clean look, especially if the chevron color contrasts with the hull, forward and rear stripe, and deck/upper deck. Like the 2017 PN boat, the chevron or side accent contrasts with the color of the rest of the boat which makes the accent stand out. Clean, simple, and just plain awesome!

I've been short on time this fall (4 month old baby and mountain bike races). So I only removed a few smaller pieces to see how much work/time would be required. In short, it will take a few hours to complete the removal. A hair dryer helped quite a bit but it was still hard to remove each graphic as a single piece without tearing. Patience, heat and an extra set of hands are key. Bits of adhesive were left that cleaned off easily with goo-b-gone. The fiberglass was mint with no shadowing or sign of the decal that was once here.

I'm Winterizing the boat this weekend and bringing it to indoor storage. If I have some time to remove the graphics in full I will, otherwise it will wait til Spring.

Might be worth waiting till a nice hot sunny day and let it sit in the sun for a bit. That's what I did with SeaDek replacement on platform. Worked pretty good.

You need a heat gun to really get the sticker warm enough to where the adhesive releases from the gel without leaving residue. Slippery slope though- too much heat and the sticker melts or you could burn the gel
