Hi PN'ers,
I have been having a pretty consistent high idle issue on my 02 196. It has the 5.0 engine. Basically after skiing a pass (34-36) when I go to set down at the end of the lake the engine will stay in a high idle. As soon as the driver puts it in gear the engine idle drops down to a normal idle and stays that way until another pass. This only happens after basically high RPMs so I don't notice it when I pull my wife at 26mph. The issue seems to happen if the driver pulls back the throttle quickly into neutral as opposed to slowly bringing the throttle back to neutral.
Boat runs like a top otherwise so this is more a annoyance than anything else.
Could it be an issue with a vacuum or something?
