heater air temperature / thermostat question

We went out yesterday and i was disappointed with air temp coming out of the heater. (quantity of air was fine just not very warm.) I don't remember complaining about it last year, or even this year mid season...i did notice that engine temp was in the low 150's which did not really bug me with water temp being only about 60 degrees. But with the thermostat being a 160 degree full open, I am not sure that is the problem. I also thought maybe i should insulate the water line going to the heater as maybe just coming across the center of the boat is cooling it.

Next time I am out I will hand test the water lines to ensure temperature to heater is good. But thought I would be one of the lazy guys that posts asking for help without going back to the boat to check it out.

    Thoughts? anyone have similar issues?

Is this happening at idle only? If so, then the water is simply not circulating enough... I just ordered a heatercraft package with the circulation pump because of the same reason in the past.

No....I have the low idle y...I had plenty of warm air before water temp and air temp dropped. so that is why i am thinking not enough hot water getting to the unit.
