    Boat Trailer Plate Mounting bracket

I did a search and couldn't find any topics related to this question...but, if there is one already, I apologize.

My trailer license plate seems to be located in a spot that is less than great. I have to work on the plate two or three times a summer. It is always bent, or losing one of the bolts, or something.

What I am wondering, is if anybody has any better suggestions for mounting positions or methods?

I have on my trailer a small piece of rubber which was specifically made to hold the license plate. It relocates it a little bit lowere but, when you hit something it just flips it up. Could probably get by with just a piece of rubber instead of something bought over the counter

I tend to be a little impatient at the ramp with the empty trailer, going a little too fast down the ramp to pick up the boat. The force of the water bends the plate. As Chris suggested a flexible cuttoff from a truck flap works well.

Dude! Do you leave skid marks when you hit your brakes?!
        That's funny!

I was at the ramp a few weeks ago and a guy was backing down and all of a sudden I hear "errrrrrrrr"..... Seems he was impatient too. He nailed the gas on the way down. I guess now I know who it was!
