    ECM Repair

Now that PCM has exhausted their ECM inventory for the GT40 (part R116009), has anyone had positive/negative experiences with a rebuild service? There are several online who appear to be focussed on cars so I am curious if they are able to fix a marine ECM.

    Thanks

If repairs don't happen, someone will configure and build a plug n play MegaSquirt (or derivative) I'm sure. Seems like you could send in the ECM and they could take the connectors and maybe even enclosure and fit in the megasquirt guts with a custom tune programming. At least if this market gets to be a decent size. How many Ford GT40 EFI drivetrains are still out there? Got to be many (man) thousands.

I'd say there are at least 20,000 GT-40s out there. Quite a few. That engine was sold from 95-02.

What symptoms are you having or how do you know your ECM is shot? Have you opened it up to see if it's just a wire loose or something? I'm interested to know what causes them to fail I have a GT40 myself.
