Excalibur 330 - MPI? Throttle body

I'm going to be asking a lot of questions. I guess I don't know engines much. The Excalibur 330 has MPI right? Yet I lift the cover and see an big ol throttle body. I thought MPI don't have throttle bodies. I admit I'm pretty ignorant on this.

So MPI engines have throttle bodies. Then what's throttle body fuel injection? and what type of fuel injection doesn't have a throttle body...or do they all?

TBI vs MPI is basically the location in which the fuel is introduced to the air. TBI injects into the Throttle body where it mixes with the air. MPI injects into the intake valve port where it mixes with the incoming air. They both will have throttle bodies you need the throttle body to control the volume of air entering the engine and therefore govern the RPM via your throttle lever.

Got it. Thanks for the response. I'm learning slowly but surely.
