    Winterization Questions on my 2015 G21 w/XR550

OK, I'm hoping I can get some help/guidance from folks who have more experince with this. I've always winterized my own boats in the past, so I decided to tackle the job on our new 2015 G21 w/ XR550 (our first season with the boat). My biggest concern is that my past boats have not had the closed cooling, so this is new for me.

I first changed the oil/filter... No issues. Then decided to drain the raw water using the handy little yellow card that the dealer provided with the boat. I ran into a few issues, that I'm hoping folks could help me with.

    1) When I "Pulled [the vent] to ensure completion of winterization" (see yellow card), I had pink antifreeze squirt out all over. I had assumed that the vent plug would be tied into a raw water chamber and allow the water to drain out of #3 below. The image on the right with the blue arrow shows the vent plug that I removed (again assuming it was a vent with raw water). Any ideas why this would cause pink antifreeze to squirt everywhere? Does this vent plug tie into the closed cooling system (assuming it does). Thoughts?

    2) Once the plug was removed I squeezed the fat line just to the right of the vent plug (see image below). It pushed more antifreeze out of the hole, so I'm assuming that fat line is part of the closed cooling system (with anti-freeze, not raw water). Well that line is tied into the line that goes to my Heater Core. I read in many forum locations that you need to winterize/drain the heater core, but it appears that the heater core is tied into the closed cooling system. Is that correct? I didn't open up the heater core line yet, because I didn't want antifreeze draining all over (if it IS part of the closed cooling system). Anyone know? Here's an image, red line is the hose that goes to the heater core.

    3) Last question (for now)... In my previous boats, it was fairly easy to get to the impeller and inspect/replace it. I was really surprised to see the water pump on the back side of the engine, behind a big fly wheel (If I'm looking at the right thing). Is the water pump really behind this big fly wheel with the three hex bolts? Do you have to remove the belt to get to the water pump/impeller? Any advice/guidance on how difficult this is to do? Am I missing something?

Do not pull the vent plug that is not part of the raw water system, just pull the anode out and it should all drain out. Yes the water pump needs to be accessed behind that big fly wheel and the belt needs to come off.

Your heater is also fresh water, the lowest plug to drain the raw water is in the bottom of your vdrive, as nohlan_4 said , to drain the heat exchanger remove the anode.

So follow up- getting ready to summer-ize to check the impeller I need to take the flywheel and belt off and then put the plugs back in?

You can reach between the openings on the wheel with a socket extension dont' need to take it off. And yes plugs back in with sealant so they don't leak.

Okay finally got my boat back, have some questions ...
Xr-550 - figured I'd try to summarize it myself.

would it make sense there is no antifreeze in the front left reservoir ? Is

Looking at the yellow sheet for the raw water drain locations..should I have various disconnected hoses and plugs kicking around?

The maintenance manual says they are replaced with perfect seal.

From what I see have a very small hose on the left hand side disconnected. That's all.
