Saturday I put the boat in and it wouldn't start. The fuel pump cycled but motor would not turn over. Sunday I wiggled the wires and two relays on back of engine, wiggled kill switch and engaged throttle/tranmission level too forward and reverse once hit the key and it started. Any ideas on what it might have been?

RE: 96 GT-40 would not start
my guess is the kill switch. I had a similar thing happen to my 97 last year. It would start for 1/2 sec then die. I got rid of the kill switch (lanyard). I just tied the wires together. Obviously if you think you are going to fall out of the boat and religiously wear the lanyard I would replace it, if not then just bypass it.
