    Voltage

1998 196 gt-40 . The first run of the season the Voltage guage read 16v.
There seemed to be a problem as the radio was intermittent and the Sirius would only work at idle. Any ideas?

Bad/stuck voltage regulator? Measure the voltage with a DMM, voltage gauges are not too accurate.

      RE: Voltage

Yeh, I agree. 16v is too high and probably causing the radio to cut out on over voltage. Get this fixed ASAP before bad things happen like a battery explosion, etc.

He should a solid state regulator... really not much to stick.

Maybe one of the diodes or transistors went bad.
