When winterizing my GT40 this season, one of the bolts that keeps the two halves together) snapped. It is quite fused. I tried the normal things, liquid wrench with a real wrench, EZ out, etc., but nothing is working. Nothing to weld to. Only thing left is to take to a machine shop (and probably end up having to get the hole retapped). before doing that, I though I would see if anyone has either an entire water pump or the back half of the pump for sale from a parted-out older boat. Thanks.

Can you drill through it with a left hand drill bit? Heat with a mapp (or oxy acetlyn) torch first. Often, they'll come out with a left hand bit when that bites.
Still, 10% off of $129 is a good deal

Call or email Joe at www.rawpumps.com I believe the pump you want is a G21 Sherwood. Joe sells new and rebuilt. He buys used cores and may have just the the part you need.
If you want a full rebuild, you can mail him your pump and he will rebuild it. I did a minor rebuild myself a few years back when I had access to a press to r and r the seal. I was in a rush this time and bought a rebuilt G21 for $270. Price included shipping to me and also a prepaid mailing label to return my core pump.
http://www.nautiqueparts.com/sherwoodrawwaterpump.aspx new raw water pumps at Nautique Parts are $429.
I feel your pain, I just had a spark plug break off below the nut in my GT 40. Snapped with no wrench torque applied. I'll start a thread on this once I figure it out.Last edited by JayG80; 01-08-2017, 12:26 PM.

Thanks all. I did try a counter rotation bit. I do not have access to a MAPP or oxy acetlyn. I did try my crème brule torch first to heat things up, but no dice. I may try one more time (I have done a number on the bolt already...drilled completely through it). It is like the bolt has literally become fused to the pump. Also have a lead on a possible used one thanks to a forum member, but if he does not have what I need, I will call or email Joe. Thanks all!
To be clear, I need the RWP (the expensive one), and it is a Sherwood.Last edited by Chexi; 01-08-2017, 04:24 PM.Now
