Location of ballast 'empty' pump on 2003 216 Air DD

    Hi all,

hoping someone one can tell me where the ballast 'empty' pump is on the port side tank of a 2003 216 Air DD. it is factory ballast with tanks each side of rear ski locker. The tank will fill but pump doesn't run when switched to empty, light on the switch is on, pump makes no sound. It the pump part of the under section of tank itself? If so how do we replace? Getting tank out looks like a fair pain.

    Any help/tips appreciated.
    Thanks

    Wes

Check under the removable floor section behind the dog house. If it turns out pump is running blow out the vent lines to make sure they are clear

Not sure if they still did this in 03, but on my boat there's one fill pump, and one empty pump. The fill pump is right under the engine on the starboard side. The drain pump is further back, as Quinner said under the floor section.

Most likely the pump is dead. I had to replace mine a couple of times. Again, not sure if this was still true in 03, but in my boat it's just a bait-well pump. I bought a new one from Overtons or West Marine. The only thing you have to do is cut the plug of the old pump and solder it onto the new one.

After the second one died I finally figured out there was water sitting in the pump at the end of the season which was freezing and shattering the pump. After that I sorted out a way to get some antifreeze into it and never had to replace it again.
