    After Market Fresh Air Exhaust

I am considering buying a FAE for my 2005 210. Are there any reasons why I would not want to buy a FAE. Any adverse effects to boat performance? Do the pro's out weigh the con's (if there are any con's)? Also, is the only company besides fresh air exhaust.com?

The pros far outweigh the cons. If you're surfing a lot, especially with a bimini, it takes away all of the exhaust circulation under the bimini (it gets particularly bad a the slow surfing speeds). I never did a test to compare the speed and performance with the FAE on vs off, but it felt a little bit slower on top end and when pulling a skier it felt like it had a bit less pull, this was only noticed during really hard pulls. However, this may be attributed to how much more quiet the boat is and just be a perception based on sound, as I said I never did an actual test.
What you will notice though is a much quieter ride, no exhaust smell (even the surfer will notice) and a happier crew at the end of the day.

Thanks MikeC! Good feedback. Would you recommend with or without the flapper?

I concur.... Great all around modification if you surf behind your boat. no cons here either and also glad I did it.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better addition to your boat than FAE. I installed one on my 2005 SAN and loved it. It made the motor sound more like a sewing machine. So nice and quiet plus you don't have to smell exhaust any more. Such a smart thing to do. Worth every penny. I think I paid around $425 delivered. I can't think of any cons if it's installed correctly-which isn't hard if you're mechanically inclined. As for the flapper, that's a waste of money. Ask Larry the owner of FAE. That flapper was introduced as a CYA effort so warranty claims wouldn't be denied. Now, FAE is stock on Nautiques and Nautiques don't have flappers.

FYI, Nautiques of that era don't have their exhaust ports in the same EXACT spot so you'll need to be careful when you give FAE the measurements of your specific boat. When you're ready to order, they'll send you a protocol to follow.

I have done some extensive testing for CO levels on my 08 210 and can tell you the flapper does reduce the frequency by which CO migrates up the stern between the swim deck during idle only. Other than that not sure the flapper does anything other than possibly reduce mud dobbers from nesting in mufflers.

Thanks for all the great information. I went to place my order and Christina from FAE informed me that FAE is offering $75 off from Feb 1-7. She said they will probably run a spring promo as well. Let me know if you need Christina's contact info. She was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Christina Dubes: 512- 647-7321. Cost was $405 but I added the blended welds so that was an extra $40 so the new total was $445 plus S&H. She mentioned that their winter buy they are running this week is one of their better/best promotions as far as discounts. Hope this helps.
